CLEVELAND, Ohio— After losing Games 1, 2, and 4, the Cleveland Cavaliers fail to the Indiana Pacers 114-105 Tuesday night at the the rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse arena in downtown Cleveland, losing Game 5 of Round 2 of the 2025 Eastern Conference playoffs, a best-of-seven-games series that put to rest their quest to win the Conference Finals and, ultimately, the NBA Finals.

The Pacers won all of the Round 2 games in Cleveland, to the disheartening of Cleveland fans.

The NBA playoffs are presented by Google, an Internet giant, and one of the BIG Four tech companies.

The No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, Cleveland outdid the Miami Heat with a four-game sweep in Round 1, but struggled in Games 1, 2, 4 and 5 of Round 2 against the Pacers, the series ending 4-1, Pacers.

Led by head coach Kenny Atkinson, the Cavaliers had their eyes on the NBA Championship trophy, and so did Cleveland fans, Cleveland a largely Black major American city and the second largest city in Ohio, behind Columbus, the state capital.

Cleveland has not won an NBA championship since 2016, when megastar LeBron James, who now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, was a team member.
